Vintage Chinoiserie Blue & White Lidded Soup Tureen
A beautiful statement piece of classic country house proportions.
Chosen for its rich texture and graphic charm, this hand-painted blue and white porcelain tureen is the quintessential addition to a curated dresser or dining scene. The deep bowl and domed lid are adorned with an intricate, stylized floral and stylized arc border pattern, rendered in variations of cobalt and indigo ink over an earthenware-glaze base.
The lidded pot features practical lug handles on either side and is crowned by a beautiful floral-bud finial, adding subtle architectural character to its rounded silhouette. The clean interior provides an excellent contrast to the heavily decorated exterior, showing the wonderful glaze variations common in vintage pottery.
A truly versatile treasure, it serves beautifully as an elegant kitchen centerpiece, a storage pot for hosting, or filled with fresh greenery as a unique centerpiece for the home.
