Repurposed Antique Persian Silver Hand-Chased Tabletop Easel Mirror
An extraordinary decorative treasure, merging the exquisite artistry of ancient Persian silversmithing with clever, modern utility.
Hand-selected for its incredible historical narrative and remarkable texture, this unique tabletop easel mirror tells a beautiful story of survival and transformation. The spectacular front frame is formed from an authentic piece of antique Persian silver, meticulously decorated by hand using the historic Qalamzani (repoussé and chasing) technique. Every millimetre of the silver surface is wrapped in dense floral panels, scalloped geometric arches, and hand-stippled backgrounds that catch ambient room light with spectacular depth.
Originally crafted as the luxurious casing for a grander heirloom, this precious silver facade was thoughtfully salvaged and masterfully repurposed approximately thirty years ago to create a bespoke vanity mirror.
The heavy structural wood block backing has been dressed on the reverse in a beautiful, warm floral wood-inlay veneer, complete with a matching fold-out wooden support leg for effortless display. Secular Phillips-head hardware secures the silver safely along the raw, characterful timber edges. A perfect conversation piece for a luxury dressing table, a well-lit mantelpiece vignette, or stacked atop design books, this one-of-a-kind treasure brings unrivaled history, soul, and everyday glamour to the home.
