Antique EAPG Clear Pressed Glass Scalloped Covered Butter Dish (13cm)
A beautiful study in early-twentieth-century glassware, bringing timeless country house utility and classic charm to the modern table.
Hand-selected for its brilliant clarity and beautiful structural form, this antique Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) covered butter dish is a wonderful testament to heritage tableware. The set is composed of a striking underplate boasting a wide, flowing 16 cm diameter eight-petal scalloped floral rim, balancing a heavy, beautifully fluted domed cloche lid.
The base is anchored by an intricate, pressed starburst medallion embedded underneath the central well, designed to diffuse morning light beautifully across a breakfast scene. The dome features strong, architectural vertical ribs that arch upwards into a prominent, multi-faceted geometric spear finial handle, bringing the total height to a perfectly proportioned 13 cm.
Whether anchoring a formal weekend brunch vignette, keeping artisanal butter fresh on a rustic kitchen counter, or styled as a charming standalone piece on an open dresser, this beautifully preserved treasure injects a classic layer of everyday glamour and narrative into the home.
